Christmas is fast approaching, and what better way is there to get into the holiday spirit than enjoying the festivities that Hilton Head has to offer? From family fun to great food to holiday events, there’s something for everyone. We’ve compiled a list of some of the best events on Hilton Head Island we recommend checking out this holiday season.
When: December 1 to 31, 6:00 pm onwards.
Where: Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina
This December, take a stroll through the Palmetto Dunes’ version of a winter wonderland, as Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina transforms into a colorful affair. Stroll the boardwalk, where the marina and boats will be decorated with holiday lights, and enjoy everything a Lowcountry "winter" has to offer.
When: Wednesday to Friday from 11:00 am–2:00 pm, during the month of December.
Where: Alexander’s Restaurant & Wine Bar
Cost: 2-course meals for $22 per person, 3-course meals for $32 per person.
Get festive this holiday season and enjoy some delicious Lowcountry cuisine without the hassle of cooking. Indulge in some delicious holiday-inspired meals created by the chefs at Alexander's Restaurant. They will be offering prix fixe meals, with crowd-pleasers on the menu including their Lowcountry crab bisque and braised beef short ribs.
When: December 2 to December 23
Where: Coastal Discovery Museum
Cost: $65 per person.
Put your creativity to the test as a local Gullah basket maker teaches this traditional Lowcountry art style. You will then be given the opportunity to start a wreath of your own. Register by calling (843) 689-6767, ext. 223 or online here.

Where: Shelter Cove
Looking for something fun for the whole family to do? Shelter Cove offers a wide array of family activities, including a skating rink, horse and carriage rides, face painting, or meeting Jolly Ol' Saint Nick! Be sure to check out the calendar for rotating events happening all throughout the month of December.

Where: The Shelter Cove Community Park
Grab a blanket, some hot cocoa, and head to the park for free screenings of your family’s favorite holiday movie classics. Every Thursday leading up to Christmas, we’re celebrating the season family style, with a lineup of The Polar Express, Elf, and Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

Where: Northridge Shopping Plaza
Cost: $35 single, $65 per couple, $500 per table.
Leave the kids at home and enjoy a night of dining, dancing, and experiencing the true essence of the Gullah culture. Tickets for this Hilton Head Island event include a buffet and live music performances.
When: December 9, 3:00–6:00 pm
Where: St. Luke’s Church.
Take a stroll through the history of Bethlehem with your family as you explore the marketplace, pet live animals, and create some arts and crafts at the local shops.
When: Sunday, December 10, 11:00 am–6:00 pm
Where: Hilton Head Sonesta
Check some items off of your holiday gift shopping list this year at the Holiday Hookup. This event features homemade gifts and treats created by local women in business. Not only will you be sure to find something for everyone on your list, there will also be a silent auction to benefit a local charity, Hopeful Horizons.

Where: First Presbyterian Church
Cost: Between $15 and $40
Celebrate the holiday season on Hilton Head Island by enjoying some live, festive music. The First Presbyterian Church will be putting on a show featuring carols galore, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Christmas movie soundtracks. It's fun for all ages, giving you the opportunity to sing along to some popular holiday tunes. Tickets are available here.

Cost: $99 per person (includes a champagne toast, tax, and 18% gratuity.)
